The point of a job application is to get you an interview.
Therefore, the fewer obstacles you put in the way of getting an interview, the better.

In the same vein, never use the phrase “as you’ll see in my resume” or “as my resume shows”.
This is obnoxious (the person has obviously read your resume) and redundant.2. Please, please, please keep your cover letter short.
